The Russian army took control of the main supply route for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Bakhmut

The Russian Armed Forces took fire control of the main road by which the Ukrainian Armed Forces receive supplies in Bakhmut.

This was told to The New York Times by the Ukrainian military, who returned from the front line in the Bakhmut area. According to them, the road was in the zone of destruction of tanks and artillery. The APU should now rely on the path from the city of Chasov Yar to the east of Bakhmut to supply the APU.

Assistant to the head of the DPR, Yan Gagin, said today that Bakhmut was in an operational encirclement and Russian troops continue to close the ring outside the city. There has not yet been any confirmation from the Ministry of Defense and the Ukrainian side to his words.

The Ukrainian command is discussing the issue of a possible withdrawal of troops from Bakhmut “taking into account the general situation,” Serhiy Cherevaty, a representative of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said the day before.

“Removal cannot just happen. The command has different options for action and monitors the enemy. For every action he takes, we have opposition,” he said, adding that the highway to the city remains under Ukrainian control.

According to military analysts, Bakhmut’s value lies in its location at the crossroads of some of the region’s highways. Taking the city could give Russia more room to advance further in eastern Ukraine.
