Russian instructors will train military personnel of the Tajik army

Instructors of the 201st Russian military base in Tajikistan began training the military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Republic. It will last two months.

On Tuesday, January 31, TASS reports with reference to the press service of the Central Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. It is noted that Russian instructors will conduct training in 14 military specialties. Among them are such as the gunner-operator of the T-72 and BMP-2 tanks, the commander of the BM-21 Grad multiple launch rocket systems, the gunner of the 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer, the gunner and driver of the BTR-80.

Subsequently, the Tajik military will pass the standards. Also, at the end of the training, they will perform control firing, including from the standard weapons of combat vehicles.

The training of Russian military specialists for the Armed Forces of Tajikistan has been organized since 2015. For all the time, more than 6.5 thousand people have been trained.

Stationed in Tajikistan, the 201st Gatchina Order of Zhukov twice Red Banner military base belongs to the Central Military District and is the largest Russian military facility outside the country. It is located in Dushanbe and Bokhtar. The base includes motorized rifle, tank, artillery units, reconnaissance, air defense, communications, as well as radiation, chemical and biological protection units.

Now Russian military facilities are officially located on the territory of eight countries – Abkhazia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Tajikistan and South Ossetia, as well as in Transnistria, whose sovereignty Moscow does not recognize. These objects differ in purpose and capabilities.
